After the geophysical DCIP baseline measurements were successfully carried out at site Färgaren at the beginning of March, last week also the biogeochemical and isotope sampling has now been successfully completed. PhD student Sofia Åkesson and PhD David Hagerberg collected samples for PBGC (biogeochemical) and CSIA (isotope) analyses in four boreholes.

In a few weeks the remediation contractor will be established on site starting to install approximately 100 wells to a depth of 20 m below ground surface for heat treatment of the contaminated soil. Preliminary the heating will start in August 2017.

PBGC and CSIA sampling going on. The nasty contaminant requires full HS equipment.
