In October, time came for yet another important field campaign. This campaign, scheduled to occur one year after the baseline measurements of October 2017, started Monday the 8th and was concluded Saturday the 13th. During this week, Nikolas and Sofia collected groundwater samples from seventeen monitoring wells at the Alingsås site. All seventeen wells were sampled for groundwater chemistry, including PCE and its metabolites, as well as for compound specific isotope analysis (CSIA). Additionally, in fourteen of the seventeen wells, microbial samples were collected through filtering of groundwater. Because these were the same wells that microbial samples were collected from during the previous campaign, we now have opportunity for time-lapse comparisons of results from before and after the pilot test, which Sofia now will be working on.

Groundwater sampling after first full year, for further chemical analysing in the laboratory.
