During the process of PhD work, certain steps are set out to be passed. At the department of Geology, a half time seminar is given by each student after ca 2-2,5 years. Sofia, one of the project’s four PhD students, has given her seminar the 12th of June and presented very interesting data and plans for the final 2 years of her PhD work.
Sofia showed very promising work concerning number of microbes and degradation of contaminants. The geological structure of the aquifer seems to be an important factor on where microbes grow and degradation of PCE contaminants take place! We congratulate Sofia on her well performed talk and look forward to see more exciting results in the near future
