The scientific carrier starts with a period of searching. What to do, what to ask, what to answer and how to investigate the hypothesis. Sofia, one of the project’s four PhD students, now seems to have come through this searching phase. This morning she presented her scientific questions and in which way she plan to handle them for a group of senior researchers and other colleagues at the Geological Department. A short summary of the interesting session is: The driving force and the goal from Swedish EPA (Naturvårdsverket) and the industry is that in situ-remediation of contaminated sites has to be more used in Sweden. Sofia´s contribution to that is to try to investigate which of the four methods in her project is the most reliable when determining the degree of remediation success.
