The first week in October, a new annual field campaign took place in Alingsås to follow the degradation two years after the remediation. During the week we collected groundwater samples from seventeen monitoring wells for groundwater chemistry analysis (including PCE and its metabolites) and Compound Specific Isotope Analysis (carbon). Microbial samples were collected from 11 of the wells, from which all samples have been collected previous years.

Compared to last year we could observe that less injection liquid was purged and more wells had gas bubbles when pumping. Now we are waiting for the results from the labs and planning for the DNA lab work.

Due to illness, two persons stepped in and helped with short notice, big thank to Love (student at Lund Uni.) & Jessica (at Tyréns) for all help!
